About Little Wise
Little Wise is songwriter Sophie Klein, who has been turning heads and melting hearts. Owning the stage solo or cutting loose with Rosie Burgess (bass) and Pam Zaharias (drums), Little Wise fuses Indie Folk-Rock with a good dose of Melbourne swagger.
Her sophomore album ‘Want it All’ was recorded at The Aviary Studios in Abbotsford and backed by Creative Victoria and a stellar crowdfunding effort. The songs are shorter and sharper, weaving hook-laden mantras to shrug off self-doubt and inner demons with a rising tide of guitar and backbone of bouncing bass drum. SCENSTR have described the first single ‘Want it All’ as sitting “somewhere between the growl of PJ Harvey and simmering tension of The Velvet Underground”.
The new album follows her 2016 release ‘Silver Birch’ which was featured on PBS and RRR and won ‘Best Debut Release’ in the Rhythms Magazine Writers’ Poll.
Little Wise has showcased in Nashville and NYC and has toured widely back home, with recent festival appearances at Nannup, Tamworth, Mount Beauty, St Kilda Live ’n Local and more. She has supported Frazey Ford (CAN), The Audreys and Dan Parsons. ~~~
